TrueMile EV ("the app") is built and operated by Gate Engineering LLC ("we", "us"). These
terms are the agreement between you and Gate Engineering LLC for using the app. They are written
to be read, not skimmed — like our Privacy Policy,
there is nothing hidden in them. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
TrueMile EV is an electric-vehicle telemetry and cost-tracking app. It logs your trips and
charging sessions (via GPS and, optionally, an OBD adapter you connect to your vehicle),
computes analytics such as cost per mile, efficiency, and battery health over time, and backs
your data up to a private cloud account so it survives phone changes and reinstalls.
the app is a vehicle telemetry tool and is not directed at children).
The app is a paid product. Features may vary by subscription or purchase tier, and tiers,
features, and prices may change over time. Any purchase is handled and billed through the app
store you bought it from, under that store's own terms and refund policies.
(Settings → Delete account). Uninstalling the app removes local data from your device.
the VIN — never your identity, locations, costs, or trips) is retained so it can follow the
vehicle to a future owner, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Use the app for its purpose: tracking your own vehicles' driving and charging. Do not:
Do not interact with the app while driving.
We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service or other users.
Range projections, arrival state-of-charge, cost figures, savings comparisons, efficiency
numbers, battery-health trends, and trip plans are **estimates computed from logged data and
third-party sources**. They are informational only and can be wrong — weather, terrain, load,
vehicle condition, charger availability, and data errors all affect real outcomes.
Always verify against your vehicle's own instruments and your own judgment. Never rely on
the app's numbers to decide whether you can safely reach a destination or a charger.
Connecting an OBD adapter is optional and at your own risk. The app issues read-only
queries by design — it does not write to or command the vehicle. However, the adapter is
third-party hardware plugged into your vehicle's diagnostic port; choose a reputable one and
follow your vehicle manufacturer's guidance. We are not responsible for adapter hardware or
for issues arising from its use.
We actively develop the app: features may be added, changed, or removed. If the service is
ever to be discontinued, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data first.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or
implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gate Engineering LLC is not liable for indirect,
incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app — including running out of
charge, missed trips, or decisions made based on the app's estimates. Where liability cannot
be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the
claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate
accounts that violate these terms. Sections 4 (your data rights on deletion), 6, 7, 9, and 11
survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict
of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located in Illinois, unless the law where
you live requires otherwise.
If these terms change materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new
effective date, and continued use of the app after that date means you accept the update.
